Nurses, or doctor's assistants, can be very helpful for everyday health care advice. They have had to go to nursing school which is very demanding. You can ask friends and family about the nurses they talked to when they had to visit the hospital and if they would recommend that facility for you or your loved one. Retired patients in nursing homes or assisted living facilities should ask about the credentials of the nurses on staff to get an idea on their experience and dedication. Doctor assistants will be well educated and can answer many questions you may have. Your physician may be able to recommend an RN that visits patients in their home to treat them for minor ailments.
