The fabrication process of artificial limbs should not be rushed. Some artificial limbs for legs and arms are simple devices while other artificial limbs are very high tech. An amputee may use artificial limbs for sports or other recreational activities. An amputee with an artificial limb may have an electric prosthesis, or they may have a mechanical prosthesis, both of which are common types of artificial limbs.
